The safeguarding of our children is taken very seriously at St. Peter's. We recognise that it is everyone's responsibility to ensure the safety and protection of all children in our care. We put systems and structures in place to ensure everyone is kept safe, and ensure children feel comfortable and safe in school to talk about any concerns they may have.

Keeping children safe online
The internet has become an enormous part of our lives and the lives of our children. If used well, the internet is a safe, fun, exciting, inspiring and informative place, which has lots of opportunities for young people. Children start using computers from a very early age and are increasingly using the Internet more and more whether it is at home, in school, on their mobile phones, on their tablets or on a games console. However, it is important to manage and minimise the associated risks and provide children with the tools to help them use the Internet safely and responsibly.
Just as we want to keep our child safe in the real world, we want to do the same in the virtual world. It is important that we understand enough about the Internet to keep our children safe from harm, so that our children can experience the Internet positively and responsibly. Here at St. Peter’s, our aim is to teach children about both the benefits and the risks of being online; promote healthy, safe, responsible and respectful online behaviours, and empower our children with the decision making tools to pause, think and make educated decisions in the online world.
Please be aware that there are age restrictions to many websites and social media platforms, which are in place to keep our children safe.
Children must be:
13 years or older to use:

- Snapchat
- TikTok
16 years or older to use:
18 years or older
(13 with adult permission) to use:
- YouTube (age-restricted content)
