Mental Health & Well-being

At St Peter’s, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to flourish, feel valued and let their light shine. The mental health and wellbeing of our children, staff and families is an important part of our school community and is closely linked to our Christian values of love, hope, trust, thankfulness and respect. We create a caring and supportive environment where children and adults feel safe to talk about their feelings, ask for help and know that they will be listened to. Through our curriculum, worship, pastoral support and everyday relationships, we help children to develop resilience, recognise and manage their emotions and understand the importance of looking after their mental health.

We also prioritise staff wellbeing by promoting a supportive working environment, encouraging open conversations and providing appropriate support when colleagues need it. We recognise that supporting children also means supporting their families, and we work closely with parents and carers, offering advice, signposting to appropriate services and working in partnership with families when concerns about a child’s wellbeing arise. Together, we aim to build a community where everyone feels cared for, respected, supported and able to shine.
